As part of International Archives Week we are taking a look at some of the posts we’ve written about the document and archive collections in our care and the work we do. Today we’re taking a look at some of the posts we’ve written about our collections.
1. The North Devon Journal Archive
One of our most popular collections if the archive to local Newspaper, the North Devon Journal. Several posts have used articles from the newspaper and its rival, the North Devon Herald, over the years and it remains one of our go to sources for historical information.

2. RAF Chivenor Collection
Another very popular collection chart the history of RAF Chivenor from its beginnings before the Second World War up to the mid nineties when it was handed over the Royal Marines and became RMB Chivenor.

3. William Richard Lethaby
William Richard Lethaby was a Barnstaple born architect who became a leading light in the Arts and Crafts Movement, this post was written to commemorate his 160th birthday back in 2017.
We are currently taking another look at this fascinating collection as part of a joint project with South West Heritage Trust and the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon which focuses on the area’s creative past called Creative North Devon.
